Pray for our series: Exiting COVID. As we prepare to re-open after COVID, we must also prepare ourselves spiritually. How we exit one season is how we enter the next. Pray that we exit this season with…
…praise, (“About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25)
…with generosity, (“ ‘Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.’ So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon, every container was full to the brim.” 2 Kings 4:4-5)
…and with renewed priorities. (“Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value.” 1 Cor 3:12-13)

Pastor Kevin Smith
Lead Family Life Pastor/ SEU Director
COVID is having a direct impact on the daily life of our SEU Carolina students. Restaurant closings have caused some of them to lose jobs and access to income. Some have had to adjust to online classes due to in-person classes being cancelled, while others have been forced to go home altogether out of fear. We ask that you one: pray that Jehovah Jireh, our provider, will supply all of their needs according to His riches in glory. Two: please pray that they have confidence and boldness when it comes to changing their routines and adapting to a new way of life, and three: please pray that God would use these challenges to stir up something new inside the heart of this generation. New vision, new dreams, new ways of doing ministry, and a new level of anointing.

During this time of pandemic where people are stressed and anxious, we have an opportunity to reach the lost like never before. People are searching, not understanding what is going on around them. They are being isolated and many feel alone, abandoned, and scared. This is the time for us to pray that the church will rise up and reach out to those through whatever means that are available. Ask God to give us creative ways to reach those who are lost, broken, and hurting during this time. Ask God to bring the lost home. As Hebrews 10:39 says, “But we are not of those who shrink back, but of those who have faith.”
Pastor Gwen Stowers
Missions and Outreach Pastor
Featured Missionary: Although these missionaries will remain unnamed due to sensitivity, we are asking for prayer for them as they serve in Tajikistan planting churches among unreached people groups. They are working to develop systems of evangelism and discipleship in local communities and to train local leaders to lead small house churches that reproduce. Their vision is to see a church planted among every unreached people group within the Persian-speaking world. Please pray that doors would open in the hearts of people in the Persian-speaking world so that they might come to know Christ. Pray for the fire of the Holy Spirit to catch in the house church movement and for people to come to Christ.
Featured Dream Center Ministry: Corner Field Market
Corner Field Market (CFM) serves over 1,000 families in our community each month with food and non-food items to help overcome family hunger and other needs. CFM offers an opportunity to volunteer daily in numerous capacity, and is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week for assistance. In CFM, there is an opportunity for each person to hear the gospel and to receive personal prayer. Please pray not only for an influx of more volunteers, but also for the strength and health of the current volunteers as they serve the underserved in our community. Pray for continued favor in receiving and the distribution of food items and ease in the intake of clients. Pray for more clients to participate in our services and join us for lunch on Sundays. Pray they would find life in Jesus.

The COVID pandemic has been difficult on everyone—but it has been especially difficult on the seniors, who are the most vulnerable. Those in nursing homes or hospitals are isolated. Pray that God would give them peace and protection. Pray for their families who are, in many cases, unable to give them the extra care that their loved ones so desperately need. Also pray for those who are unable to have surgeries and other medical procedures during this time.
Thank you all for your support and prayers as cfa Academy students, parents, and staff navigates the ever-changing landscape surrounding COVID. Please pray that the Lord will continue to guide and direct as we move forward with Distance Learning. Believe with us that no opportunity to share the gospel message of hope and peace will be missed. Pray for protection, health, safety, and peace. Pray with all of our new-to-Distance-Learning families and the challenges faced during this unprecedented time. Ask the Lord to continue to guide our hearts and minds as we all consider our “new normal” not with fear and trembling, but with a peace that can only be found knowing that the Holy Spirit is guiding, directing, and moving us forward in a greater awareness of His plan and His will for cfa Academy.
Pray for our local and state leaders to have God’s divine direction in our public health and economic crisis. Ask the Lord to reveal to them the plan to bring healing and prosperity to our community.
