Church-Wide Focus

Dr. Doug Witherup

Lead Pastor

Acts 19:11 says that God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles.  Among many other things, this certainly is an unusual season.  But in unusual times, God gives an unusual anointing to perform unusual miracles.  Pray that this would be a season that our church would be marked by unusual miracles.

Southeastern University Focus

Pastor Kevin Smith

Lead Family Life Pastor/ SEU Director

The fall semester is fast approaching for the 2020 academic year. The pandemic is also in full swing, and is not showing any signs of letting up. It is threatening the very hope within the heart of our students regarding their future. Therefore, let us unite in prayer that they would stay steadfast and continue the journey they started. Let us pray for a renewed sense of faith and hope in the very One who called them in this season. And let us pray for the next generation to continue to say yes this fall — no matter what the situation or circumstance; for “He who called them is faithful.” Pray that our students would have the confidence, boldness, and strength to continue the journey they started.

Congregational Care Pastor

The harvest is ripe! As believers, we have the responsibility to pray in the harvest. Let us not miss this incredible opportunity to partner with the Holy Spirit for His harvest of souls. As you pray for the lost, keep in mind that you have a supernatural prayer partner who is helping you. You are never alone when you pray. Many of you have been praying for years regarding lost family members. This is the time to lean in and partner with the Holy Spirit for your lost loved ones. The lost cannot be reached without the dynamic working of the Holy Spirit in a life. We cannot pray without the help of the Holy Spirit, because He impresses us what and how to pray when we intercede for the lost!

Ask the Lord to teach you to yield yourself to His Spirit. To teach you to trust Him as a living person who leads your life and prayers. To understand His power and see a demonstration of that power in your prayer life. Thank Him that He indwells, seals, sanctifies, and empowers you as you intercede for the lost. Ask Him to make you sensitive to His promptings and teach you to partner with Him in prayer and intercession in a deeper way as you pray for the lost.

Missions Focus

Pastors Gwen Stowers & Harrison Skey

Missions and Outreach Pastors

Featured Missionaries: Joseph & Mishal Newell

Joseph and Mishal Newell are missionaries serving and leading Chi Alpha campus ministry at UNC Chapel Hill. They minister among the students and community at the University in order to build up devoted disciples of Jesus. They desire to create an authentic community with the students on campus while training them to serve the Lord passionately. Their overarching goal is to reconcile students to Christ, make disciples, and raise up a generation of spirit-filled ministers and missionaries. Pray for them and their ministry as they pursue this God-vision in outreach events, worship services on campus, evangelism, and prayer walks. Pray that God would break the curse of the university that is postmodern and post-religion.

Featured Dream Center Ministry: Street Outreaches

Street Outreaches touches the under-served in our community through prayer walks, outreach events, and food distribution. Pray for God to give us creative ways to reach our community with the gospel. Our communities need the love of Jesus now more than ever. Pray for open hearts of lost people in our community — and pray that the people who are reached will not only have their practical needs met, but will also find salvation in Jesus Christ. Also pray that the people who are reached will come to the Dream Center to seek further assistance spiritually and practically. We are believing for God to move and reach our community in ways that we have never seen before.

Featured cfa Ministry: Fine Arts/Music Ministry

Pastor Jerry Skaggs

Please pray that God would give us wisdom and ideas on how we can better reach unchurched people through the use of our live services and online platforms. Pray that in this season, God would give us increase and favor in building new and more volunteers in our worship and media ministries.

cfa Academy

Please pray that the Lord will direct the hearts of students and families for whom Concord Academy could be the perfect academic and spiritual fit. Pray for the returning families as they prepare for the new school year. Also, continue to pray that the teachers enjoy a restful time of renewal as the Lord prepares their hearts for the ministry opportunities that the 2020- 2021 school year will offer. This post- or mid-COVID season presents new challenges and decisions. Please pray that the Lord will give wisdom and direction to the administration team as they evaluate and navigate the current landscape while planning for the re-opening of the school.

Local Government

Pray for the Cabarrus Sheriff Department, Sheriff Van Shaw, the entire Concord Police Department, Chief Gary Gacek, the Kannapolis Police Department, and Chief Terry Spry to have courage, professionalism, and understanding with the citizens they serve. Ask the Lord to protect our law enforcement and establish His peace in our community. Let our citizens show their appreciation to our officers for their bravery and service.
